Key Responsibilities
Consult with customers to understand their desired cake designs and decorating ideas for specialty cakes.
Produce a variety of icings, frostings, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences.
Stay up to date with the latest trends in flavors and aesthetic presentation.
Supervise and maintain decorating utensils and equipment in proper condition.
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, ensuring product freshness and sanitation.
Apply creativity to cake decoration, coordinating all aspects of decorating cakes including fondant, buttercream, butter icing, cupcakes, and desserts.
Take inventory of baking and decorating supplies, liaising with the store manager to order stock as needed.
Conduct training for students and interns when required.
Craft flowers and other decorative accessories for cakes.
Decorate regular bakery items according to established bakery standards.
Ensure display refrigerators are clean, polished, fully stocked, and workstations remain organized and sanitary.
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager and Creative Director.
Qualification
Interested candidates should possess an OND or Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years experience.
Most Important Competencies:
Ability to decorate cakes and fondant independently with no supervision - this is the most critical skill for the role.
Ability to write perfectly on cakes without correction, ensuring clear, neat, and professional lettering every time. Calligraphy is importance
Creativity in designing and executing cake decorations.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to bakery standards.
Knowledge of various icings, frostings, and cake fillings.
Must live very close to Bodija, Ibadan.
