Summary:

Conduct physical inspections and market valuations of motor vehicles to support lending decisions, collateral records and insurance. Produce timely valuation reports and flag exceptions (salvage history, major accidents, clone plates).

Key responsibilities:

Car Valuations and inspections:


Perform physical inspections of vehicles (exterior, interior, VIN/chassis, engine, odometer, equipment).
Verify VIN/chassis and document plate numbers; cross-check with ownership papers and logbooks.
Produce standard valuation report with photographs, condition grades, and recommended market value.
Check for signs of prior major repairs, flood damage, cloned identity, tampering with odometer and mismatched chassis/engine numbers.
Query historical data where available (service history, prior accidents) and escalate suspected fraud.
Use standard valuation model (internal or third-party price guides) and local market comparables.
Complete digital upload of inspection, photos, and valuation to loan origination system within SLA.
Liaise with underwriting and insurance teams to support loan decisions.
Maintain a log of valuation outcomes and reason codes for write-offs/rejected collateral.
Attend occasional training / calibration sessions to ensure consistent grading.
Computation, utilizing different methodologies to estimate true/correct value of a vehicle.


GPS Tracker Installation:


Install GPS trackers on cars to facilitate efficient monitoring and tracking for the duration of the loan.
Ensure proper installation and functionality of trackers while adhering to established guidelines and procedures.


SIM Card Installation


Install SIM cards to the GPS devices.


Documentation and Reporting:


Maintain accurate records of all vehicle inspections, valuations, installations, and repairs performed.
Generate comprehensive reports and documentation for internal use and compliance purposes.


Quality Assurance:


Uphold high standards of quality and accuracy in all technical tasks performed.
Continuously monitor and assess processes to identify opportunities for improvement.


Customer Relations:


Cultivate positive relationships with clients by providing exceptional technical support and addressing their concerns professionally.
Ensure a customer-centric approach throughout interactions.


Compliance and Safety:


Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols in all tasks.
Prioritize safety during installations, repairs, and inspections.


Inspection and Diagnosis:


Conduct a holistic assessment of the condition of the vehicle-Including visual check of the problem areas, driving test, warning lights, smoke e.t.c
Identify and report fraudulent cars. i.e, tampered chassis, wrong chassis


WHAT YOU NEED


Diploma or Degree in engineering or related field.
Atleast 2 years esperience as a Vehicle Valuation Officer is a must
Previous experience in GPS installation is an added advantage.
Fluent in English and Swahili
Knowledge of Kenyan car market e.g. model features, vehicle technical structure
High sense of responsibility, preciseness, ability to plan and set priorities;
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings
Driver's Licence - BCE category is a must.
