Key Responsibilities
Case Management
Provide professional and confidential services to survivors of violence with priority to GBV, and high-risk protection cases grounded in the IRC holistic, survivor-centered case management approach.
Document client information through accurate filling of intake forms and other existing tools while ensuring confidentiality and safe storage
Ensure the GBVIMS and other trackers are accurately updated on a regular basis.
Ethically and confidentially collect and store client data,
Participate in interpretation of the data, analyzed on trends and work with the protection officer to disseminate information to all relevant stakeholders as part of protection mainstreaming and integration.
Participate in the preparation of relevant reports regarding the psychosocial/case management activities
Participate in the stabilization centre and ward rounds (paediatrics and adults) as part of ongoing client support and protection integration in health and nutrition.
Training, Mentorship and Coaching
Supervise and train, mentor, and offer other technical support including on job support to community workers directly involved in the psychosocial component of the IRC GBV/protection program
Provide leadership and guidance regarding psychosocial and case management activities to all community workers to ensure all program activities meet best practice standards.
Monitor and supervise case management, including capacity building through training and on-the-job training of community workers.

Strengthen and maintain networks with other sectors, partners, service providers and camp management to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support, including from the community.
Work in collaboration with protection team to ensure ongoing needs of women, girls and other most vulnerable individuals are being met through prevention-related activities.
Monitor monthly community outreach plan with community workers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women, girls and other vulnerable groups.
Partnership Development
Participate in review meetings and psychosocial capacity assessment of the local partners
Participating in capacity building and sharing with the local partners around psychosocial support, organizational development and case management, and more so at the WGSS.
Participate in the development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV, protection and implementation of referral pathways
Ensure the local partner is invited to the case conferences and other interagency coordination meeting at camp the level.
Assist the Protection program officer on technical review of partner's reports and monitoring sessions on psychosocial and case management components
Assist the protection officer in planning and organizing review workshops with partners on the partnership, IRC partnership approach and principles.
Contribute to the identification of relevant Support training and learning gaps/opportunities between IRC and the local partners.
Community Engagements
Information sharing: Regularly share and discuss timely, accurate and relevant information with communities with the support of the community workers highlighting and addressing concerns and challenges
Feedback Collection and reporting: Promote the formal and informal feedback mechanisms to capture, monitor, respond to, and act on feedback and complaints from communities by
Accurately document feedback received from the community through interactions, observations, and FGDs, reporting community needs, preferences, and feedback to managers and client feedback focal points
Additional Duties.
Monitor group therapy sessions and one-on-one support to women, girls, care givers and children's survivors of Gender Based Violence in collaboration with Protection team.
Work with health staff to ensure sufficient clinical care to SGBV survivors and monitor activities, when requested or advised.
Ensure GBV coordination partners and CHVs understand and can utilize the referral system effectively.
Represent protection program in Management meeting/ GBV/protection working group meetings.
Assist with preparing all relevant reports regarding the IRC's GBV/Protection activities.
Required Qualifications
Clear understanding of gender, abuse of power & issues related to general protection, CP & GBV
Team player with ability to maintain confidentiality, work ethics and respect for clients
Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization
Ability to lead, train, supervise, facilitate and motivate community case workers/incentives
workers in their respective tasks in a professional, respectful and supportive manner.
Positive, highly motivated, innovative, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong work organization, ability to meet deadlines, maintain composure, work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to details.
Willing to work in a hardship area.
Knowledge of computer, fluency in English, including writing clear and concise reports- knowledge of local languages spoken in Kakuma is an asset.
