The Role
As Category Planner, you will be responsible for continuously optimising demand plans against actual sales performance. This includes analysing and interpreting sales data to uncover key trends and drivers, as well as quantifying the impact of market dynamics on demand. The role involves developing accurate demand forecasts and assortment plans, regularly reviewing and updating demand plans with appropriate corrective actions, and scheduling replenishment waves. In addition, continuous lead time analysis will be performed to support effective supply planning and service level optimisation.
Main Responsibilities
Analyse sales, demand patterns, consumer behaviour, and supply market dynamics to inform forecasting, procurement, and replenishment planning.
Develop and maintain demand forecasts, seasonal procurement plans, master schedules, and optimal replenishment strategies using forecasting tools (e.g. Blue Yonder).
Optimise pricing and assortment strategies by analysing price elasticity, margin impact, and running assortment optimisation models to determine ideal product mix and clustering.
Execute assortment planning, distribution, and performance tracking, including scheduled reviews to improve sales volumes and profitability.
Monitor category performance, profit and loss, stock efficiency, and return on inventory, with continuous reporting and corrective action recommendations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Bachelor's degree with Honours specializing in Data Science / Analytics.
A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) Planning systems will be advantageous.
Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
