Job Description :
We're seeking a qualified and passionate Chemistry Teacher to join our dynamic secondary school team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, scientific thinking, and practical laboratory skills among secondary school students.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver well-structured Chemistry lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and curriculum activities in line with WAEC/NECO requirements and school objectives
Conduct and supervise practical laboratory experiments, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures
Assess and monitor student progress through tests, assignments, practicals, and examinations, providing regular feedback and reports to parents/guardians
Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations (WAEC/NECO)
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom and laboratory environment that promotes student engagement and participation
Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour
Provide individualized academic support and guidance to students, identifying areas of strength and improvement
Collaborate with colleagues on departmental planning and cross-curricular activities
Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school activities
Requirements:
NCE or B.Ed in Chemistry, Education, or a related field
Minimum of 2 - 4 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting
Strong knowledge of Chemistry curriculum and examination requirements
Ability to manage and supervise laboratory activities safely
Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
