We are seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Chief Accountant.
Responsibilities
Oversee all the operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Preparing and approving monthly bank reconciliations.
Preparing and filing statutory returns.
Ensure compliance with tax regulatory requirements.
Manage month and year-end closing processes.
Preparing Annual budgets.
Monthly reconciliation of all control accounts.
Ensuring timely preparation of management reports by specific dates
Payroll management.
Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
Providing mentorship to accounting staff and other support staff.
Any other duty assigned from time to time
Requirements & Application
Skills
Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
Proven numerical competence and attention to details
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
Experience in heading a finance
department and demonstrated
capability to supervise a team.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Excellent leadership, time and team management skills.
Good IT knowledge
Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
Qualifications
CPA (K). (Mandatory)
Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business, will be an added advantage.
Experience as Chief Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of 4 years.
