Basic Salary: Kshs. 124,630x6,070 - 130,700x6,370 - 137,070x6,570 - 143,640x6,770 - 150,410x6,960 - 157,370x7,160 - 164,530x7,810 - 172,350p.m.
Terms of Service: Three (3) years contract renewable for a further one (1) term, subject to performance.
Reporting: The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Kakamega County Dairy Development Corporation (KDDC) as guided by the Board of Management.
Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
Shall be the accounting officer of the corporation and shall be responsible to the Board for administration of the Corporation;
Provide leadership in the management, development, review and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures to ensure profitable operation;
Ensure compliance of financial management of resources through mobilization, budgeting and monitoring utilization of resources;
Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and review of the strategic plan, business model and annual work plans to achieve the corporation's mandate;
Ensure proper interpretations and implementation of all decisions and resolutions;
Foster corporate culture that promotes professionalism, good governance, ethical practices, creativity, innovation and good corporate citizenship;
Initiate the development of strategic partners and collaboration with National and County Governments, Development partners and other like-minded institutions;
Formulate and periodically update the Company's Plan and Action Plan including projections of any necessary expansion and development of facilities and extension of business operations;
Direct and coordinate the Company's operations and overall administration to ensure various organs of the Company operate in conformity with overall operational plans and performance targets;
Promote Company's image and develop good working relationship with all stakeholders and partners in the Company's area of jurisdiction;
Advise the Board of Directors concerning objectives and policies relating to technical, financial and legal affairs of the Company; and
Submit regular reports to the Board of Directors on revenue performance and Human Resource functions of the company.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Production, Agri-Business, Food Science and Technology or any other relevant field from a recognized Institution.
Masters' degree in any of the following discipline: Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Economics, Animal Production, Business Administration/Management, Strategic Management, Agri-Business or any other relevant field from a recognized University will be an added advantage;
Have working experience of not less than ten (10) years, five (5) of which should be in senior management level in the public service or private sector;
Be a member of a professional body;
Demonstrate understanding of business development and financial management, public policy, labour relations, corporate governance, and strategic management;
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Local, National and International policies and regulatory frameworks governing Agricultural sector;
Possess knowledge and clear understanding of the dairy sector; and
Meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
