Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Governance


Define and drive the strategic vision of Faith to Action Network in alignment with its mission and Constitution.
Collaborate with the Supervisory Council to set strategic priorities while maintaining clear governance - management boundaries.
Provide overall oversight for the delivery of Faith to Action Network's organizational mandates, ensuring that strategy, operations, and resources are aligned to achieve agreed priorities and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Kenya NGO Board and applicable laws in countries of operation.
Oversee organizational risk management, safeguarding, and ethical decision-making.
Ensure secure management of legal documents and proper use of the Network's seal in line with the delegation matrix.
Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making frameworks across the Secretariat.
Provide strong leadership to senior leadership, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
Promote succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability.
Undertake any additional roles, authority, or responsibilities as stipulated in the contract of engagement with Faith to Action Network and as assigned by the supervisory council


Financial Stewardship and Resource Mobilization


Serve as the accounting officer, overseeing budgets, cash forecasts, and financial sustainability.
Lead the development and execution of a diversified resource mobilization strategy.
Cultivate and steward relationships with institutional donors, philanthropic partners, governments, and faith-based funders.
Ensure donor compliance, ethical fundraising, and responsible use of funds.
Strengthen business continuity and long-term financial resilience.


Movement Building, Advocacy, and External Relations


Lead strategic expansion of Faith to Action Network as a global interfaith movement.
Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to strengthen interfaith collaboration.
Act as the primary spokesperson for the Network in high-level national, regional, and international forums.
Represent the Network with diplomacy, cultural intelligence, and interfaith sensitivity.
Oversee production of external communications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational values.


Qualifications and Experience


Master's degree in international development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Governance, Theology/Religious Studies, or a related field
Professional training in governance, leadership, or nonprofit management is an added advantage.
Demonstrated overall experience working in interfaith, faith-based, or religious spaces, including engagement with faith leaders, institutions, or faith-inspired initiatives.
Proven experience in movement building, network strengthening, or collective action initiatives across communities, organizations, or regions.
At least 5 years of experience leading teams and in management, including supervising staff, coordinating programs, or managing organizational functions.
Experience contributing to strategy development, organizational coordination, and implementation of multi-year plans.
Experience working with Boards, Supervisory Councils, or Trustees, including reporting and governance processes.
Working knowledge of NGO governance frameworks and statutory compliance, including familiarity with the Kenya NGO regulatory environment.
Exposure to financial oversight, audits, and risk management processes.
Demonstrated experience in proposal development, donor engagement, and partnership building.
Ability to contribute to diversification of funding sources and strengthen financial sustainability.
Good understanding of budgeting, financial planning, budgets, organizational financial reports and donor financial compliance.
