About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Chief, Finance & Accounts with strong construction industry experience to lead the Finance & Accounts function of the Company.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational financial leadership, ensuring effective financial planning, project cost control, liquidity management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, audit, risk management, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of construction/project-based accounting and financial management, with the ability to provide accurate financial insights that support project profitability, cost control, compliance, and overall business growth.

Key Responsibilities


Direct and monitor all financial activities of the organization.
Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to Executive Management.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy.
Manage Company liquidity, cash flow, working capital, and financial resources.
Oversee financial management and reporting for construction projects.
Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, variations, revenue, profitability, and cash flow.
Analyze project financial performance and provide timely reports and recommendations to Executive Management.
Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements.
Oversee internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Oversee tax planning, compliance, and statutory financial obligations.
Assess, manage, and minimize financial and operational risks.
Analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Strengthen internal controls and financial governance across the organization.
Ensure effective financial controls over procurement, suppliers, subcontractors, payroll, project expenditure, and other financial transactions.
Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Procurement, Operations, and other departments to ensure effective project financial management.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
Ensure compliance with Company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and financial best practices.


Requirements & Qualifications


Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA is required.
A Master\'s degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years\' relevant professional experience, with significant experience in a senior finance/accounting leadership position.
Minimum of 5 years\' relevant experience in the construction industry is mandatory.
Proven experience managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects.
Strong experience in construction/project accounting, project cost management, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and project profitability analysis.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, financial analysis, and internal controls.
Good understanding of construction contracts, subcontractor payments, project costs, variations, retention, commitments, and project financial reporting.
Experience working closely with Project Management, Commercial, Contracts, Procurement, and Operations teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, and accounting/ERP systems.
Strong financial management and reporting experience in a project-driven environment.
