Requirements :


Grade 12 plus a 4-year BSc Degree (NQF 8) in Agriculture /Agro-processing / Food Technology qualification as recognised by SAQA.
3-5 years' experience in Agriculture/Agroprocessing environment. Valid driver's license.


Duties :


Provide effective support to new and existing Small and Medium Agro-processing enterprises across all the animal products (e.g. leather tanning) and meat value chains.
Administer project management interventions aimed at assisting new and existing animal processing stakeholders with planning, development and operations of their processing plants embedding food safety and compliance.
Working with the unit head, veterinary services, national department and municipalities, obtain, evaluate, update and disseminate the relevant information to keep Gauteng Agro-processing industries and other stakeholders informed of new policies, trends/ technical requirements/sanitary measures.
Raise awareness on the application of animal processing product standards/ legislation/ policies/ guidelines/ checklists/ inspection procedures and standard operating procedures in the animal processing sector to increase productivity whilst ensuring food safety is enhanced in the province.
