Civil Design Modeller at Zutari
Zutari
Role Introduction
Our Global Design Centre (GDC) Water team are recruiting to support a key Australian client who has a growing water business. Specifically, the team is looking for engineering modellers who wish to pursue a digital design modelling career on water infrastructure projects.
The core civil design modelling and drafting software for the team is Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk AutoCAD - competence in these applications is a primary requirement for the role.
The team also operates Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Plant 3D and Autodesk Inventor for structural and mechanical designs, but these are not primary requirements for this role.
Role Responsibilities
Responsible for project drafting delivery and output of drawings within quality, time, and budget constraints.
Developing and generating 3D civil engineering models such as surfaces, corridors and pipeline networks.
Developing civil drawings, specifically for water infrastructure projects.
Understand 3D modelling and utilise Autodesk Civil 3D and InfraWorks to produce engineering models and drawing outputs for the engineering team.
Understand the basic functionality and full integration between various software by multiple disciplines (eg. mechanical, civil, structural, process, geotechnical, surveyor, GIS and other specialists).
Keep abreast of new technology and engineering modelling software.
Assist with digital model management and collaboration on a project basis, following approved digital management best practice, working closely with Digital Delivery Leads and Managers.
Uphold the drafting and 3D modelling standards on all projects. (This is to include the drawing templates, drawing scales, the CTB style, title block, logos, text, line weights, line works, north points, dimensioning, naming conventions, service colour codes, correct layer use, etc.)
Check and review the drafting aspects and quality on all models and drawings before they are issued.
Understand heights and levels and the interaction between Civil Infrastructure services.
Understand the importance of the quality management system, and attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Qualification in Modelling, and/or Draughting
Minimum of at least 5 years or more experience as a civil engineering Draughtsperson within the civil, mining, industrial or structural engineering fields.
Experience in the drafting and or design of typical civil infrastructure, i.e. bulk earthworks, roads, stormwater, water pipelines and/or sewer pipelines.
Fluent in the application of Autodesk Civil 3D (version 2020 or later) modelling methods and drawing production outputs.
Capable user of BIM360/ACC and ProjectWise.
Must pass a software and skill competency test as part of the interview process.
Advantageous Experience and Competencies
Autodesk Civil 3D training certification is advantageous.
Additional experience and capability in other 3D engineering modelling software: Bentley MicroStation V8i (2D & 3D), and/or; Autodesk Revit.
