Job Summary
The Civil Engineer (Road Construction) is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing road construction and rehabilitation projects.
The role ensures that road works are executed according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and within budget and timeline.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and design road construction and rehabilitation projects
Conduct site surveys, soil tests, and feasibility studies
Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Supervise road construction activities on site
Ensure proper setting out, grading, drainage, and pavement works
Monitor quality of materials such as asphalt, concrete, and aggregates
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, and project stakeholders
Monitor project progress and prepare technical reports
Identify and resolve on-site technical challenges
Ensure proper maintenance planning after project completion
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years experience
Relevant experience in road construction projects
Knowledge of pavement design and highway engineering
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering software
Strong supervision and project management skills
Good understanding of safety and quality control standards
