Description


The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising civil engineering projects from design through completion.
The role ensures that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities


Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities in line with project schedules.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other project teams.
Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
Prepare and review method statements, work plans, progress reports, and technical documentation.
Monitor project progress, materials, manpower, and equipment requirements.
Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to quality standards and HSE requirements.
Identify and resolve technical issues and construction challenges.
Liaise with the project manager and other stakeholders on project progress and technical matters.
Assist with quantity verification, cost control, variations, and measurement of completed works.
Ensure proper testing, inspection, and documentation of completed works.
Support project handover, snagging, and close-out activities.


Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
7 - 10 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project engineering.
Experience in building, infrastructure, structural, or related civil engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards, and site practices.
Proficiency in **AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant project management software.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Professional certification/membership with **COREN** or other relevant engineering bodies is an advantage.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
