Civil Site Agent - Construction Industry at RPO Recruitment

Job Description


RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their team on civil infrastructure projects in Durban and the surrounding areas.
This role is suited to a hands-on construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale civil works, leading site teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Manage the day-to-day execution of civil construction projects.
Plan and coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials.
Ensure projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification.
Monitor project progress and prepare site reports.
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Manage quality assurance, contractual compliance, and health and safety requirements.
Mentor and supervise site personnel to achieve project objectives.


Requirements:


National Diploma, BTech, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
10+ years' experience as a Site Agent or in a similar site management role within the civil construction industry.
Proven experience on civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer reticulation, and related municipal infrastructure.
Professional registration as one of the following: Pr CM with SACPCMP, or Pr Tech, Pr Techni, or Pr Eng with ECSA.
Strong knowledge of contract administration, construction methodologies, quality management, and health and safety legislation.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites.
