Requirements
Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma / Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse (2026). A minimum of seven (7) years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional nurse with SANC in General Nursing. Ability to work in a team as well as independently. Specialized experience: for the MCWYH stream, departments often prioritize candidates who have at least 3 to 5 years of experience specifically within Maternal and Child Health services (e.g., Antenatal Care, PMTCT, and Integrated Management of Childhood Illness). Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential for data analysis and report writing as an added advantage. Valid driver's licence.
Duties
Program Coordination: Implementing and monitoring MCWYH policies and guidelines across clinics and hospitals. Quality Assurance: Conducting clinical audits and ensuring adherence to the "Ideal Clinic" or "Ideal Hospital" Realization and Maintenance Framework. Data Management: Analyzing program indicators (e.g., maternal mortality rates, immunization coverage) to develop Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs). Staff Development: Facilitating training and clinical accompaniment for junior staff and students.
