Job Summary
WTS Energy is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership of its Commercial function, optimizing value and cost, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable business growth.
This role leads end-to-end commercial activities across oil & gas and infrastructure projects, including contract and claim management, and drives lifecycle costing and value engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end commercial leadership across oil & gas and infrastructure projects, including marginal field development, brownfield modifications, and EPC/EPCM scopes.
Identify new commercial opportunities, develop business cases, and secure approvals for intercompany billing.
Advise management on commercial strategy and modelling to maximize value and manage delivery risk.
Drive lifecycle costing and value engineering initiatives to optimize design and execution strategy.
Establish and maintain strategic cost planning frameworks aligned with capital allocation, cashflow priorities, and investment approval processes.
Lead change management processes, including evaluation, negotiation, approval, and formalization of variations and compensation events.
Support dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication, and arbitration, with robust commercial and contractual input.
Administer EPC, EPCM, consultancy, and service contracts under FIDIC and bespoke contract forms.
Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline; an MBA is highly recommended.
8-10 years' experience in commercial operations, bid management, or proposal development within industrial automation, energy, or engineering services.
Strong commercial and cost governance skills.
Risk management and contingency planning expertise.
Contract strategy and administration proficiency.
Claims management and dispute resolution experience.
Procurement and commercial advisory skills.
Inter-company billing and cost allocation knowledge.
Preferred:
Experience in the oil & gas sector.
Familiarity with FIDIC contract forms.
