Key Responsibilities
Translate organisational strategy, influencing priorities and audience needs into integrated communications strategies and plans for key initiatives, publications, events and influencing moments.
Support the Head of Communications in translating strategic priorities into coordinated team activity, identifying opportunities to strengthen the organisation's profile and external positioning.
Lead and coordinate communications delivery across strategic communications, media, editorial, digital and multimedia, managing workflows, timelines, dependencies and priorities to ensure high-quality delivery.
Develop and maintain organisational messaging and narratives, ensuring communications are accurate, consistent, audience-focused and aligned with strategic priorities and positioning.
Provide editorial and brand oversight across written, creative and storytelling outputs, ensuring consistency with the organisation's messaging, tone and visual identity.
Manage, support and develop Communications Team members, providing clear direction, prioritisation, feedback and performance support while fostering collaboration across communications disciplines.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, members, partners and external stakeholders, ensuring communications is embedded in organisational and influencing initiatives from the outset.
Oversee communications monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement, using performance and audience insights to strengthen communications processes, planning and future delivery.
Key Qualifications
University Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, strategic communications, advocacy communications or public affairs, ideally within the not-for-profit, international development, social impact or related sectors.
Proven ability to translate organisational and influencing priorities into effective communications strategies and plans that engage and influence target audiences.
Strong track record of developing and delivering integrated, multi-channel communications campaigns and initiatives across digital, media, editorial and multimedia platforms.
Excellent project management and organisational skills, with experience managing complex communications projects, competing priorities, deadlines, dependencies and multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience, including developing, mentoring and coordinating high-performing teams across multicultural and/or remote environments.
Excellent writing, editing and editorial judgement, with the ability to review and quality-assure communications across different formats and channels.
Strong interpersonal, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and coordinate effectively across teams and external partners.
