Job Description


Our client, a network organization that connects Trusts, Foundations, Grantmakers and non-Grantmakers is looking for a Communications Officer.


ROLE PURPOSE


To strengthen Organization's public profile and stakeholder engagement by leading communications strategy, media relations, digital channels, branding, content production, knowledge dissemination, member communication and the promotion of the Network's convenings and activities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain and strengthen Organization's public profile


Develop and promote communications, Product Development (PD) and branding materials through appropriate social media and other channels.
Strengthen the Network's profile among relevant regional audiences through media engagement; monitor press coverage and identify news, development and political agendas relevant to the organization.
Manage and strengthen the Organization's social media profiles in close cooperation with colleagues across teams.
Promote knowledge sharing and equip colleagues to contribute to the Network's communication efforts. Provide ideas for communications initiatives and professional communications advice to staff.
Develop and review content for Organization's online presence, including the website, data portal and social media, to increase visibility.
Gather, edit and package communications materials and publications, including publicity materials, posters, fact sheets, speeches, brochures, web pages and other publications for internal and external audiences.
Manage website content, maintain its design and respond to consultations submitted through the website.


Ensure production of the monthly newsletter.


Develop and implement communications and Product Development strategies
Ensure that a communications plan and strategy are in place and under implementation.
Develop, write and edit communications materials and press releases, and ensure publication through relevant media outlets and platforms.
Lead the monthly planning, marketing and communication of Organization's activities, including conferences, workshops, forums, roundtables, public engagements and media engagements.
Generate high-quality monthly bulletins for internal and external stakeholders.
Work with project implementation teams to collect data and develop and disseminate research, survey and fact-sheet reports.


Manage relationships with audiences, media outlets, partners and stakeholders


Forge strategic partnerships with individuals and organisations that can help produce and promote Organization content, activities and messaging. Collaborate with teams, members, partners and external stakeholders, including governments, embassies and NGOs.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels between the Secretariat and members.
Regularly review and monitor all membership communications for quality, value, messaging and adherence to the Organization brand.
Draft media releases, statements and media briefing notes in conjunction with relevant focal points.
Build and sustain Organization's relationships with members, key partners and other stakeholders through communications.
Conduct stakeholder mapping through social media tools to identify potential members, improve service delivery and support stakeholder engagement.
