Job Description
Review and evaluate the relevance and adequacy of organizational policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Assess internal practices and procedures for compliance and recommend improvements where necessary. Conduct periodic reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and regulatory adherence.
Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and maintain compliance tools, including registers, frameworks, and processes, to effectively manage compliance obligations for OBP. Establish and maintain professional relationships with regulatory authorities and serve as the primary liaison for compliance matters.
Actively participate in internal and external forums where compliance issues are addressed. Design and implement annual compliance programmes tailored to organisational needs. Facilitate training sessions and awareness campaigns to promote understanding of compliance obligations across the organisation. Act as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related enquiries, including policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement an annual compliance risk management program to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks. Deliver training and awareness initiatives focused on compliance risk obligations and best practices Conduct thorough investigations into incidents of non-compliance and prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations.
Provide regular reports on compliance program status, including monthly and quarterly updates to management and relevant stakeholders. Ensure timely escalation and resolution of compliance issues in accordance with organizational protocols. Contribute towards the mitigation of the department's risk profile by implementing sound governance and compliance processes and tools to identify and manage risks.
Assist in monitoring relevant changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements within scope of control.
Minimum requirements
LLB Degree NQF 8 Compliance Institute Southern Africa or The Institute of Risk Management South Africa
Minimum of 6 years' relevant experience in performing similar Compliance functions within a Pharmaceutical / Manufacturing / Animal Health or relevant public sector environments.
