RESPONSIBILITIES
During Construction Phase:
Lead on-site construction management, ensuring adherence to project scope, quality standards, safety, and environmental compliance as per Konexa's Employer Requirements and the EPC contract.
Manage construction contractors, subcontractors, and interface with the Employer's site representatives (Owners' Engineer) and external stakeholders (including TCN, regulatory bodies, and local authorities).
Oversee construction progress reporting, project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, logistics, quality assurance/control (QA/QC), and health, safety & environment (HSE) compliance.
Ensure implementation of the Project Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan, and Environmental & Social Management Plans in collaborator with the site safety manager.
Monitor site security in collaboration with Konexa's Security Manager and appointed providers.
Facilitate and supervise commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
Support documentation control, reporting, and communication protocols throughout project execution.
Procedures, systems, and controls: Implement a governance framework to direct all activities across the construction project.
Lead the Project Management Unit as the organ of day-to-day decision-making and oversight of the Design Build Contract
Define and lead procedures for project governance, reporting, risk management, and capturing project learnings.
Ensure correct contractual and commercial implementation of contractors' obligations regarding project delivery and reporting and achieving COD on time and on budget.
Develop risk management plans and risk registers; Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis; Plan for risk response and update project management plans based on risk assessments.
Transition Phase (Handover to Operations):
Collaborate with O&M teams to ensure smooth handover of systems, documentation, warranties, and contractual obligations.
Ensure all defects, non-conformities, and punch lists are resolved before the project enters the operational phase.
As Asset Manager (Post-Construction):
Provide strategic oversight of the appointed contractor's Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities under the O&M service provider, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual obligations.
Monitor plant performance against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) such as availability, performance ratio, downtime, and maintenance response times.
Review, challenge, and approve O&M service provider's performance reports, maintenance schedules, incident logs, and root cause analyses.
Manage warranty obligations and ensure timely resolution of defects and non-conformances, coordinating with the EPC contractor and OEMs as necessary.
Establish and chair regular performance review meetings with the O&M service provider, focusing on operational performance, risk mitigation, warranty claims, and continuous improvement.
Initiate independent inspections, audits, and compliance reviews when required to safeguard asset value and operational integrity.
Ensure ongoing compliance with grid codes, health & safety regulations, environmental standards, and other regulatory requirements.
Act as the primary liaison between Konexa's internal stakeholders (technical, commercial, and legal teams) and the O&M service provider for all asset-related matters.
Drive continuous improvement in plant operations by identifying operational risks, proposing mitigation measures, and recommending performance enhancement initiatives.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to asset performance and O&M costs
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years' experience in large-scale infrastructure project delivery, with at least 3 years in utility-scale solar PV or power infrastructure projects.
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and complex stakeholder interfaces.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning processes.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards.
Hands-on experience with asset management, maintenance planning, and performance monitoring in power plants is a strong advantage.
