Truworths has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager with Retail and Contracts experience.
This role will be based at our head office in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage project construction programme
Prepare and manage project budget
Ensure that all stores are built to the Company's standards
Liaise with developers and project teams to ensure that the premises are developed in accordance with the agreed specification
Survey proposed new sites and give feedback to Properties with respect to the extent of leasehold work required
Give advice and assistance to Divisions with major repairs and maintenance issues
Assist with the exportation of shopfitting elements from South Africa to relevant African countries
Liaise with external energy consultants & internal store operations teams regarding the energy conservation initiatives in stores
Prepare reports for the Board and various relevant committees relating to feedback of the energy conservation initiatives

Qualifications and Experience
Seeking candidates with experience as a Quality Surveyor and Project Manager
Experience dealing with contractors etc.
Ideally retail and shop fitting experience
Matric and relevant qualifications
5 years min relevant recent working experience
Retail project management experience in Africa and experience of managing projects on the ground, sourcing local contractors and materials etc.
An understanding of exporting and shipping of shopfitting beyond the borders of South Africa
An awareness of energy conservation options that are available in the retail environment
