Our comprehensive accounting services help start-ups and small businesses gain an operational advantage by providing operational bookkeeping, high-level accounting, financial modeling and forecasting, full-cycle accounting, and strategic financial consulting services.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing team at a company providing financial and accounting services to small/medium-sized businesses. In this role, you will manage bookkeeping staff, oversee all core accounting functions, support the month-end close, and work closely with the fractional CFO. You will be an essential part of the team as we continue to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise bookkeeping staff and oversee division of duties.

  • Take full responsibility for accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) management across multiple client accounts.

  • Ensure comprehensive month-end close, including booking transactions, making adjusting journal entries, and preparing financial statements for review.

  • Maintain proficiency in and day-to-day use of Ramp (AP platform) and QuickBooks Online.

  • Provide reliable financial data for forecasting and support the fractional CFO with financial modeling (mainly Excel) and data entry when needed.

  • Review and correct financials prior to CFO review, minimizing the need for additional adjustments.

  • Participate in special projects as needed, including due diligence for fundraising or acquisition, and preparation for audits.

  • Communicate clearly with team members and clients; work collaboratively but independently.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience as a Controller

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting process management.

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online required; Ramp experience preferred but not required.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience with financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows).

  • Willingness and ability to work US business hours.

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and eager to learn; experience with due diligence or audit processes is a plus.
