Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Cook to prepare high-quality meals in Abuja.
The ideal candidate must have experience cooking for large groups (20+ people), be versatile in preparing both local and continental dishes, and maintain high standards of food safety, consistency, and hygiene.


Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking:


Prepare and cook meals in large quantities (20+ servings per batch).
Cook a wide variety of dishes, including:

Shawarma and other quick-service meals
Jollof rice
Fried rice
Soups and stews
Local Nigerian dishes
Continental meals as required


Ensure consistent taste, portion control, and presentation.
Follow standardized recipes and dietary guidelines (where applicable for hospital patients).
Properly season, garnish, and package meals for distribution.


Kitchen Operations:


Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cooking stations.
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and cooked meals.
Monitor food stock levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Minimize food waste and, where possible, control costs.
Assist in menu planning when required.


Food Safety & Compliance:


Adhere strictly to food hygiene and safety standards.
Ensure all meals are prepared in a clean and sanitary environment.
Monitor food temperatures during cooking and holding.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times.


Requirements


Proven experience as a Cook (minimum 2 - 3 years preferred).
Experience cooking for large groups (20+ people consistently).
Strong knowledge of Nigerian and continental cuisine.
Ability to prepare both traditional meals and fast-service items like shawarma.
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
Team player with good communication skills.
