Responsibilities


Plan, coordinate, supervise and carry out in a timely manner the logistical arrangements for the sessions of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and the Open-ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR).
Lead the coordination with the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), including the Division of Safety and Security (UNDSS) and other United Nations (UN) Agencies, of all aspects of UNEA and OECPR session, including registration, security, protocol, and conference services.
Coordinate with the Communication Division of UNEP on all communication and outreach activities and the design and branding of the meeting rooms.
Oversee the content management of the UNEA website and other platforms such as documentation platforms, mobile applications and registration platforms.
Coordinate with relevant entities on the multilingual live streaming of the meetings of UNEA and the OECPR sessions and uploading of related documentation on relevant platforms and websites.
Coordinate with the relevant Ministries in the Government of Kenya and the Permanent Mission of Kenya to UNEP on logistical, protocol and operational matters related to UNEA and OECPR sessions.
Support the planning and organization of the Committee of Permanent Representatives Subcommittee meetings.
Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
Perform other duties as required or requested.


Education


Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, political science, international relations or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.


Work Experience


A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in coordinating intergovernmental meetings and conference management in the United Nations system or similar international organizations is required, including demonstrated experience in planning and delivering high-level, complex, multi-stakeholder meetings and conferences at the international level, and managing end-to-end logistical, operational and procurement arrangements for large-scale events involving Member States, intergovernmental organizations, multilateral environmental agreements, senior officials, non-governmental organizations, multiple institutional partners.
Experience in procurement processes within the United Nations system or similar international organizations, including drafting terms of reference, managing procurement timelines, overseeing vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial rules and procedures, is required.
