This post will report to the Director Business Development Office.
We seek a person who thrives in a highly pressurised and deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide support and input into processes dealing with UWC's business development objectives.
Support in the implementation of the revenue activity policies and business processes.
Input into feasibility studies of potential new business opportunities.
Providing input to management for reporting to governance structures and management teams.
Providing input into communications on revenue activity matters to the campus community.
Provide input into complex, contentious, anomalous revenue matters and/or projects.
Specific Responsibilities
Finance related
Provide input and administrative support into revenue diversification workstreams.
Extract and supply data and information for management dashboard reporting.
Provide administrative support to the Business Development invoicing and debtors team.
Prepare and/or review monthly finance reconciliations for review by management.
Property and tenant related
Oversee the administration of the lease register and repository and facilitate amendments to satisfy audit and governance processes.
Draft new lease contracts or lease updates for review by management.
Review finance information and Finance system for pending rental renewals and updates.
Extract and prepare property and tenant related information for management review.
Provide administrative support and record minutes when having engagements with retail and student accommodation projects.
Extract and prepare information for management's attendance at body corporate and related meetings and attend meetings with management as and when requested.
Facilitate the review and settlement of body corporate and/or company related expenses and recoveries.
Extract and prepare information for utility recoveries on infrastructure projects.
Attend to and facilitate resolution to tenant and related enquiries.
Provide support to management on completion of statutory requirements.
New business opportunities/Entrepreneurship
Receive and facilitate communications with new business applications received by the Business Development office.
Provide administrative support to management in the evaluation of new business opportunity applications.
CE courses
Provide input into the Continuing Education (CE) templates and budget calculations.
Manage the CE overhead collection process for management review.
Special projects
Provide administrative support to management team in respect of special projects dealing with revenue generation and financial sustainability.
Intellectual property and royalties
Oversee the administration of royalty agreements for the Business Development office and organize the extraction of data for royalty income calculations and collection.
Minimum Requirements
BCom Degree NQF 7 (with accounting-related subjects).
3-5 years' experience in working in a revenue accounting and property lease/contracts administration position
Valid Driver's license (Code 8) - with at least 2 years of driving experience
Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrable professional and effective work etiquette, communication and organisational skills.
Good computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio). Good handle of Excel specifically for budget and financial modelling purposes.
Experience working at an academic institution and specifically working with leases, legal documentation, tenants, property administration and finance, debtors, customer relations, budgets, business development, and special projects would be advantageous.
