Corporate Commercial Attorney - International FMCG

Our client, is looking for a skilled and experienced Corporate Commercial Attorney to join our dynamic legal team for a leading International FMCG. This 12-month fixed-term contract role is fully remote, open to candidates based in South Africa, and focuses on supporting Middle East commercial contracts.

As a key member of the legal team, you will be responsible for reviewing and advising on a range of commercial contracts, including distributor agreements and the review of marketing and advertising materials. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, ensuring compliance, risk management, and business objectives are met.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including distributor agreements, marketing agreements, and other contracts within the Middle East region.
• Provide legal counsel on FMCG-related matters, focusing on marketing/advertising materials and compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Advise internal business teams on contractual risks and strategies to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and compliance, to support business objectives and ensure legal integrity in all transactions.
• Review and advise on legal aspects of commercial activities in a fast-paced and evolving market.

• LLB degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a corporate commercial attorney, with significant experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in the FMCG or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of distributor agreements and marketing/advertising law.
• Experience supporting Middle East operations is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining a high standard of legal practice.
