Job Summary
The Corporate Strategy and Planning Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring longÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂterm strategic plans for Eta Zuma Mining and Industries Limited (EZM) and its client companies.
This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, industry knowledge, and strategic foresight to align organizational goals with market opportunities.
The officer will evaluate risks, identify growth drivers, and develop actionable strategies that ensure sustainable success. Collaboration with crossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunctional teams and executive leadership is essential to translate strategic vision into measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Implementation:
Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans to drive growth and achieve business objectives across EZM and client companies.
Translate corporate strategy into balanced scorecards, maps, and measurable business objectives.
Facilitate the identification of barriers to achieving company objectives and design approaches to overcome them.
Ensure effective monitoring of all strategic initiatives, consolidating those that deliver value and eliminating those that do not.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Support periodic reviews of EZM and client companies' business performance.
Prepare and present detailed performance reports to executive management, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and recommend companyÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂwide performance improvement initiatives.
Establish and oversee frameworks for performance assessment and process improvement.
Research & Market Analysis:
Conduct market analysis, industry research, and competitive benchmarking to uncover insights and validate value creation opportunities.
Perform modeling, portfolio metric reporting, and operational support aligned with EZM and client companies' objectives.
Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in the mining and energy sectors to inform strategic decisionÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmaking.
KPI Development & Monitoring
Develop, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress of strategic initiatives.
Ensure KPIs are aligned with organizational goals and provide actionable insights for leadership.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
Summarize analytical findings and communicate insights clearly to management and stakeholders.
Collaborate with crossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunctional teams to ensure alignment of departmental objectives with corporate strategy.
Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and executive briefings to drive organizational alignment.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or other analytical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in corporate strategy, planning, or related roles.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with advanced knowledge of market research and financial analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Proven ability to manage qualitative and quantitative analysis across diverse business areas.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing performance improvement strategies.
High level of situational awareness and ability to anticipate industry trends and risks.
