The County Chief Officer shall be the Accounting and Authorized Officer in the respective County Department and shall be responsible to the relevant County Executive Committee Member.
Terms of Service
The County Chief Officer will serve on contract as determined by the appointing authority.
The gross monthly salary and benefits attached to this position shall be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Duties and Responsibilities
General administration and coordination of the respective County Department.
Development and implementation of County Strategic Plans, Sector Development Plans, policies and regulations.
Formulation and implementation of effective programmes to achieve sector goals.
Promotion of national values and principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of performance management systems.
Ensuring efficient and effective utilization of financial, human and other resources in the department and submitting regular reports.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Hold a Bachelor's Degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
A Master's Degree from a recognized university in Kenya will be an added advantage..
Where applicable, possess valid registration with a relevant professional body.
Have vast knowledge, experience and a distinguished career spanning not less than seven (7) years, three (3) of which must be at a managerial level.
Possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives.
