The County Project Lead (s) will provide strategic and operational leadership for the CASHA project at county level. The role is responsible for coordinating community mobilization, training delivery, stakeholder engagement, mentoring systems, market linkages, climate resilience interventions and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
County-Level Project Leadership
Lead planning, coordination, and implementation of CASHA activities within the assigned county.
Develop detailed county work plans aligned with the 18-month project timeline.
Ensure timely delivery of outputs including youth mobilization, training, business planning, and climate resilience activities.
Represent Utunzi in county stakeholder forums and technical working groups.
Youth Mobilization & Selection
Oversee establishment and coordination of Youths in specific counties.
Supervise transparent beneficiary selection and onboarding processes.
Ensure inclusive targeting of marginalized youth, including young women, and persons with disabilities.
Oversee enterprise profiling and skills assessments of selected youth.
Training & Capacity Building
Ensure quality implementation of climate-smart livestock production, business development, and gender-trans-formative training modules.
Oversee demonstration plots and peer learning activities.
Provide technical backstopping to Community-Based Facilitators (CBFs)
Enterprise Development & Market Linkages
Coordinate business plan development support for youth entrepreneurs.
Facilitate Business-to-Business (B2B) forums and buyer-seller engagements.
Support formation and strengthening of producer groups and youth cooperatives.
Ensure 70% of trained youth are linked to functional markets.
Climate Resilience & Innovation
Oversee implementation of early warning systems and climate information dissemination.
Support livestock insurance uptake initiatives.
Coordinate community-led rangeland management and feed reserve establishment.
Promote climate-smart pastoral practices among youth enterprises.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Ensure accurate data collection and reporting on outputs and outcomes.
Conduct monthly supervision visits to training groups.
Prepare monthly and quarterly county progress reports.
Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Monitor county-level budget utilization.
Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial procedures.
Oversee logistical arrangements for training and community engagement activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Climate Change, or related field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in development programming within ASAL counties.
Demonstrated experience in livestock value chains, youth entrepreneurship, or pastoral development.
Proven experience in stakeholder coordination and community mobilization.
Experience managing field teams in remote or hardship locations.
