Job Summary


Reporting to the Credit Manager, the job holder will be responsible for among others, supporting the credit function by ensuring proper documentation, processing, monitoring, and administration of credit facilities in line with policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Loan Processing & Appraisal Support


Receive and review loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
Verify member eligibility, savings, guarantors, and loan qualification criteria.
Confirm loan approvals comply with SACCO credit policy and delegated authority.


Credit Documentation & Securities


Prepare loan contracts and ensure proper execution by members and guarantors.
Ensure collateral/security documentation is complete and properly registered where applicable.
Maintain safe custody of loan security documents, collaterals and collateral register.
Track insurance covers secured loans (e.g., motor vehicle, property, loan protection).


Loan Administration & Disbursement


Process loan disbursements as per approved terms and conditions.
Update and maintain accurate member loan records in the system.
Monitor loan balances, repayment schedules, and maturity dates.
Ensure compliance with loan conditions before and after disbursement.


Credit Monitoring & Recovery Support


Generates credit reports for management review.
Support loan recovery and restructuring processes where necessary.
Ensuring there is proper loan categorization and classification.


Compliance & Risk Management


Ensure all loan files meet internal audit and regulatory standards (e.g., SASRA requirements).
Confirm compliance with KYC, AML, and SACCO credit policy.
Identify documentation gaps and follow up for rectification.
Submits credit information to the licensed Credit Reference Bureaus.
Assist during internal and external audits.


Member Service & Coordination


Respond to member inquiries regarding loan status, and collaterals.
Liaise with Credit Officers, Finance, and Member Services teams.
Educate members on loan products, requirements, and repayment obligat


PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, Credit Certification) is an added advantage.
