Requirements
Requirements and Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in credit control or accounts receivable management.
At least 3 years experience within a medical, healthcare, hospital, or medical aid environment.
Proven experience working with medical aid schemes, insurance providers, and third-party administrators.
Experience managing and leading a credit control or revenue cycle team.
Strong understanding of healthcare billing processes and medical claims management.
Knowledge of medical coding standards and healthcare regulations (where applicable).
Proficiency in financial systems, medical billing software, and MS Office (especially Excel).
Ability to analyze debtor aging, cash flow, and collection performance.
Good working knowledge of MS Excel

Key Performance Areas
Manage and oversee the medical credit control function, ensuring efficient billing, follow-ups, and collections.
Develop, implement, and enforce credit control policies specific to healthcare services and medical aid schemes.
Monitor accounts receivable, aging reports, and debtor days, ensuring timely resolution of overdue accounts.
Liaise with medical aid schemes, insurers, and third-party administrators regarding claims, rejections, and payments.
Ensure accurate submission and follow-up of medical claims in compliance with healthcare regulations and coding standards.
Manage patient accounts, payment plans, and credit approvals while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Lead, coach, and develop the credit control team to improve performance and service delivery.
Resolve complex billing disputes and escalated collection issues professionally and empathetically
Work closely with clinical, billing, and finance teams to improve revenue cycle efficiency.
Prepare monthly reports on collections, outstanding balances, bad debts, and risk exposure.
Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare laws, data protection regulations, and internal policies.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cash flow and reduce revenue leakage.
