A consumer lending company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Officer to support our credit and lending operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, a good understanding of consumer lending risk principles, and the ability to analyze loan data to support business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze credit applications and loan performance trends
Conduct basic risk assessments and provide recommendations
Monitor default, early repayment, and portfolio quality indicators
Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports using Excel or other tools
Collaborate with underwriting, collections, and operations teams
Support the development of internal credit scoring and exposure models
Escalate unusual lending patterns or fraud red flags promptly
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
1 - 3 years' experience in risk analysis, credit analysis, or consumer lending
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, SQL, or Google Sheets) is an advantage
Basic understanding of credit risk, KYC, and regulatory standards
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Excellent communication and reporting skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of HND/BSC degree
Experience in a microfinance, fintech, or digital lending company
Knowledge of basic fraud detection strategies
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
