Description
The Customer Acquisition Officer is responsible for expanding Hoop Telecoms' subscriber base across corporate, SME, and residential segments.
This role focuses on high-impact customer acquisition strategies, including securing building/estate access agreements, executing localized market storm campaigns, and converting cold leads into active internet subscribers.
This is a target-driven role requiring strong field presence, persuasive communication, and a strategic approach to opening new territories.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Penetration & Mapping: Identify and map out high-density residential estates, commercial plazas, and business hubs within Hoop Telecoms' fiber and wireless coverage footprints.
Estate & Plaza Onboarding: Pitch to and negotiate with Facility Managers, Resident Associations, and Property Developers to secure exclusive or preferred internet infrastructure access rights (Right of Way/Access Agreements).
Field Activations & Market Storms: Plan and lead localized direct-to-consumer sales activations, pop-up experiential tables, and community storms in targeted deployment zones to drive instant sign-ups.
B2B & SME Lead Conversion: Convert cold inbound inquiries, marketing leads, and field prospects into paid subscriptions through aggressive follow-ups, product demonstrations, and site survey coordination.
Cross-Functional Delivery: Work hand-in-hand with the Technical Operations and Installation teams to ensure that newly acquired customers are surveyed, connected, and activated within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Sales Funnel Management: Move prospective subscribers efficiently from initial contact through proposal presentation and payment collection, ensuring all onboarding documentation is completed accurately.
Competitor & Market Analysis: Track competitor pricing, promo offers, and deployment schedules in your assigned territory to pitch Hoop Telecoms' value proposition effectively.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Education: BSc / HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or any related field.
Experience: 2 - 4 years of active field sales or customer acquisition experience.
Prior experience working with an ISP, Telecom firm, or Pay-TV company on estate onboarding or direct retail acquisition is highly preferred.

The "Hunter" Mindset: Exceptional ability to handle rejection, cold-call, and push for conversions in competitive environments.
Stakeholder Negotiation: Comfortable pitching to high-level decision-makers like Estate Chairmen, Estate Managers, and Managing Directors.
Telecom Product Knowledge: Good understanding of broadband internet, Mbps metrics, data allowances, and the difference between fiber optic and microwave connections.
Mobility: High physical stamina and a willingness to be on the field 70 - 80% of the time.
