Dental Specialist / Lecturer Grade 1-3 (One Year Contract)- Periodontics and Oral Medicine at Gauteng Department of Health

Requirements :


An MChD (Oral Medicine and Periodontics) degree or equivalent qualification to allow registration with HPCSA as a specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontics. Current registration with the HPCSA as a specialist (Independent Practice). Relevant experience in clinical practice of the specialty.
Experience in teaching and supervision of undergraduate students in the discipline will be an added advantage. Record of research experience in the field.
The following will serve as an added advantage: Collaborated effectively in multidisciplinary team discussions and workgroups. Postgraduate supervision in clinical training and research. Additional qualifications and training in the field of Oral Medicine, Periodontics or Implantology


Duties :


The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical services in the specialty of Oral Medicine and Periodontics (including Implant Dentistry). Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The candidate will serve as the Module Chair/ coordinator for undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
The role also involves assisting with departmental financial management, participating actively in research initiatives, and undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
