REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Beng/BSc) and be registered as professional Engineer with ECSA. Must have eight (08) years post qualification relevant experience. Excellent communication skills.
Decision-making, Team Building, and People Management. Technical Report Writing. Knowledge of dam, canal
and pipeline design. Knowledge of computer Civil Engineering packages, specifically Civil 3D. Knowledge of OHS/Construction Regulations. Knowledge of Environmental Regulations. Knowledge of Quality Management.
Knowledge of Project Contract Law - GCC or FIDIC or NEC. The disclosure of a valid and unexpired driver's license.
DUTIES:
Advising clients and management on the design of dams, canals and other water infrastructure to maximise human and physical resources during the implementation of civil projects. Preparing technical reports and other technical tender documentation to secure fair and equitable tenders for subcontractors and overseeing and managing contracts between the client and subcontractors. Monitor quality and report to the client/management during the project's construction phase. Liaise continuously with clients, consultants and subcontractors on the project through written and verbal communication. Combine and compile monthly reports.
These reports need to include technical details and quality control test results.
Planning and risk monitoring to solve problems before and when they occur.
Planning and Sequencing of construction activities through method statements.
Managing construction activities and ensuring adequate progress during the project. Engage with different stakeholders during the planning and implementation phase of projects.
