Duties and Responsibilities


Managing and coordinating activities in the division.
Planning, monitoring and evaluating information communication technology program activities.
Ensuring Information communication technology goals and objectives are met.
Approving information technology standards for application.
Liaising with the users to ensure that information processing needs are met.
Reviewing and evaluating feasibility studies and reports and implementation.
Ensuring that information technology projects are completed within planned time and budget.
Ensuring that procedures and standards are adhered to at the academy
Liaising with the heads of departments in the use of information technology in developing and implementing change management initiatives.
Providing specifications for procurement of information technology equipment and services
Planning and budgeting for the information communication technology division; and
Managing information communication technology capacity through performance management


Required Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a staff must have:


Cumulative fifteen (15) years' work experience three (3) of which should have been at the grade Assistant Director Information Communication technology
Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Computer Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Master's Degree in any of the following disciplines Computer Science, Information communication Technology, Business Information technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Relevant information communication technology certifications such as Cisco Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Prince 2 or equivalent qualification;
Be a member to a relevant professional body where applicable and
Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution,
