Job brief


The Design Engineer is responsible for developing, designing, and optimizing renewable energy systems, including solar PV, energy storage, and hybrid solutions.
The role involves translating project requirements into technical designs, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards while supporting project execution and innovation.


Key Responsibilities


Design and develop renewable energy systems (e.g., Mini-Grid, solar PV, battery storage, hybrid systems) based on project requirements
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and system specifications
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to support system design
Perform system sizing, load analysis, and energy yield calculations
Ensure designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies
Collaborate with project, operations, and installation teams for seamless implementation
Review and optimize existing designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Support procurement by specifying materials and equipment requirements
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Maintain accurate design documentation and reports.

Educational Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields
2 - 5 years of experience in renewable energy system design (solar preferred)
Professional certification (e.g., COREN, NSE, or equivalent) is an added advantage.


Skills:


Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and electrical systems
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools)
Understanding of energy modeling and load calculations
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (IEC, NEC, local codes)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
