Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma in Town & Regional Planning (a degree will be an advantage)
1 - 3 years' experience in similar environment
To be registered with SACPLAN within 3 years after appointment
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct site inspections relating to land development applications and law enforcement and issue contravention notices through formal correspondence and direct engagement with relevant stakeholders.
Interpret, implement, and enforce the Land Use Scheme, SPLUMA, applicable by-laws, and other relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Assist with the assessment and monitoring of land development applications to ensure compliance with approved conditions.
Prepare and submit well-informed recommendations to the Manager: Land Use Contraventions.
Adhere to prescribed standards, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote the efficient utilisation of financial resources, minimise wastage, and identify and escalate potential risks.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, ethical conduct, and customer service by fostering positive and constructive relationships with stakeholders and leading by example.
Attend to and resolve enquiries in accordance with approved operating procedures and service delivery standards.
Take responsibility for own performance and ensure that business objectives are achieved in accordance with prescribed response times, quality standards, and service delivery requirements.
Maintain professional, respectful, and effective interactions with stakeholders and ensure ethical and transparent conduct at all times.
