Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer will join the Product & Engineering team to design, secure, and scale Hugo's infrastructure powering internal platforms, CX solutions, and AI-enabled tools.
This role is both hands-on and strategic, requiring strong ownership, security mindset, and the ability to optimize systems across multiple teams.
This individual will act as a thought leader in infrastructure, automation, and platform reliability while enabling rapid product delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
Own cloud infrastructure across multiple engineering teams
Design secure, scalable, and cost-efficient platform architecture
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployments
Manage access control and identity across engineering systems
Secure infrastructure using best-practice security frameworks
Optimize existing systems for performance and cost efficiency
Support AI workloads and data pipeline infrastructure
Implement observability, logging, and alerting standards
Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC
Partner with engineering to enable end-to-end feature delivery
Drive reliability and uptime across all production systems
Provide guidance on build vs buy infrastructure decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain multi-environment deployment architecture
Manage Kubernetes/Docker-based workloads
Implement RBAC and secrets management
Lead security hardening initiatives
Optimize cloud spend and resource utilization
Support multi-team access and environment isolation
Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies
Improve developer productivity through tooling
Define infrastructure standards and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of networking and cloud security
Experience managing production-scale systems
Scripting experience (Python, Bash, Node.js)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
AI-Native Expectations:
Comfort using AI-assisted development workflows
Experience deploying ML/AI workloads is a plus
Ability to evaluate AI tooling for DevOps productivity
Interest in automation-first engineering practices.
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting BPO/CX platforms
Experience with Terraform or Pulumi
SOC2 / ISO / compliance exposure
Experience with data infrastructure.
