Job Objective
To provide high-quality, individualized, and holistic nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence in collaboration with the multidisciplinary medical team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care to dialysis patients in accordance with established clinical standards and protocols.
Manage and oversee the entire dialysis treatment process from patient admission and assessment through treatment completion and discharge.
Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis procedures, documenting observations and reporting abnormalities promptly.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the dialysis procedure.
Collaborate with the Head Nurse and Medical Officer in responding to medical emergencies within the dialysis center.
Identify and escalate patient complications or adverse reactions during treatment.
Assist in implementing emergency protocols and patient stabilization procedures when necessary.
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records.
Document treatment details, patient progress, observations, and nursing interventions in the hospital information system.
Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Coordinate and ensure accurate scheduling of dialysis sessions.
Prepare dialysis equipment and treatment areas in accordance with operational and safety standards.
Monitor the availability of consumables and report shortages promptly.
Support the orientation, training, and development of newly recruited nursing staff.
Participate in continuous professional development programs and clinical training sessions.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Nurse or Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Nursing (B.NSc)
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Minimum of two (2) years post-registration nursing experience.
Previous experience in dialysis, nephrology, intensive care, or related specialty areas is highly preferred.
Demonstrated competence in dialysis procedures and patient management.
