About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Generator Service Manager to oversee the servicing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of generators for our existing customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel generators (1,000 - 4,000 KVA), particularly CAT and similar brands, and must be able to independently manage technical jobs, service teams, warranty issues, and customer site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage servicing and maintenance of customers' diesel generators.
Conduct load audits, site inspections, and technical assessments.
Prepare estimates for generator installations, repairs, and related services.
Independently handle generator repair and overhaul projects.
Lead and supervise service technicians and technical teams.
Manage branch-level service warranty issues and resolve them promptly.
Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of generators before they are dispatched to customers.
Ensure accurate and timely closure of job cards in line with company policy.
Build strong relationships with customers and provide technical support where required.
Drive service-related revenue for the branch.
Travel to customer sites and attend client meetings as required.
What Success Looks Like in Your First 90 Days
Ensure real-time job card closure within 7 days, in line with company policy, or provide clear justification where an extension is required.
Improve service turnaround time and customer satisfaction.
Effectively manage warranty and service-related issues.
Drive the branch's expected service revenue and contribute to business growth.
Establish strong operational control over service and technical activities.
Requirements
HND/B.Sc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
3 - 5 years' experience in a similar service/technical management role.
Strong hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel generators (1,000 - 4,000 KVA), including CAT and similar brands.
Proven experience leading a team responsible for diesel generator repairs and overhauls.
Ability to repair, service, troubleshoot, and overhaul engines across different capacities.
Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Previous experience with solar power solutions is an added advantage.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently, solve technical problems, and make sound decisions.
Willingness to travel for site inspections, installations, and client meetings.
