Job Description


An industry leader in the packaging/manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Digital Print Operator based in the Roodekop area.


Tasks & responsibilities:


Operate the digital printing machine and utilise computer software to process print jobs.
Download, process, adjust and prepare customer artwork and files using relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.
Review and check customer files to ensure accuracy and print readiness before production.
Monitor print quality throughout the production process and ensure that required quality standards are consistently maintained.
Manage colour, ink and other printing requirements to achieve accurate and consistent print quality.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and basic servicing of the digital printer.
Troubleshoot print-related problems and attend to minor equipment breakdowns where possible.
Make the necessary printer and computer interface adjustments to accommodate different print sizes, materials, weights and layout/imposition requirements.
Maintain the printer and surrounding work area in a clean, organised and safe condition.
Adhere to all company safety, quality and operational procedures.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that production requirements and deadlines are met.


Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:


Matric
N4 relevant technical qualification
3-5 years' experience operating digital printing equipment.
Experience within a plastics manufacturing or packaging environment will be advantageous.
Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in image-editing and relevant design software.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to be appropriately assertive when required.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organisation.
A proven track record of good punctuality and attendance.
Willingness and availability to work overtime when operationally required.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Reliable, honest, self-motivated and accountable.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
