1Password is seeking a Director of Corporate Events to lead the strategy and execution of our annual user conference, tier-1 global tradeshows sponsorships, and other strategic bespoke external and internal events. 1Password is one of the most trusted and most loved brands in cybersecurity. This leader will bring 1Password’s story to life through exceptional event experiences that elevate our brand, deepen engagement with our customers in the IT and Security community, and position us as a pioneering identity security leader in the AI era.

The ideal candidate is deeply experienced at leading all aspects of $million+ annual user conferences and major tradeshow exhibits in the tech industry, with a proven track record of delivering experiences that stand out and generate true impact on reputation and growth. They blend creative experiential design with operational excellence and management oversight rigor to put the spotlight on 1Password product innovation and the customers who have experienced the transformative value of our solutions.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What you will do:

Global Events Strategy & Planning

  • Define and lead 1Password’s user conference and tier-1 global tradeshow sponsorship strategy in alignment with brand, demand, and pipeline goals.

  • Ensure 1Password’s participation amplifies our enterprise value proposition and identity security leadership narrative.

  • Collaborate with Product, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Enablement and GTM leadership to ensure every event delivers cohesive product innovation storytelling and supports demand generation, pipeline acceleration, and customer retention and expansion objectives.

  • Develop the event roadmap and investment strategy for 1Password’s user conference and Tier 1 global sponsorships, ensuring each program stays on budget and has defined objectives, success metrics, and measurable business impact..

Tier-1 Tradeshow Execution & Experience Design

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, planning, and delivery of 1Password’s global tradeshows.

  • Ensure the 1Password brand is represented consistently and creatively across all event experiences - from branding to booth design and speaking sessions to executive engagements and digital extensions.

  • Develop pre-, during-, and post-event engagement frameworks to drive qualified attendance, meetings, and follow-up conversions.

  • Standardize execution with scalable playbooks and vendor frameworks that support operational efficiency and flawless delivery.

  • Bring a “last mile” mindset to execution, ensuring every event converts engagement into tangible pipeline impact.

Ancillary Event Surrounds

  • Extend the reach and impact of tier-1events through ancillary experiences including hosted dinners, executive roundtables, partner co-hosted events, customer meetups, and press & analyst engagements that amplify visibility and deepen relationships.

  • Partner with Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, and Sales to ensure these activations align with regional goals, pipeline acceleration, and customer relationship growth.

1Password User Conference

  • Lead the design and execution of 1Password’s annual user conference, establishing it as a marquee event for customers, partners, and industry leaders.

  • Define the content strategy and experience architecture to position 1Password as a thought leader in identity security and a trusted enterprise partner.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to deliver meaningful content and connection opportunities that deepen customer relationships.

  • Develop a repeatable framework for future user conferences that can scale in size and influence year over year.

Measurement, Reporting & Optimization

  • Define KPIs that link every event to business impact, including awareness growth, pipeline creation, influenced revenue, and ROI.

  • Build dashboards and reporting frameworks that track performance across events, sponsorships, and experiences.

  • Analyze results and apply insights to continually optimize event selection, spend, and tactics.

Budget Management & Vendor Oversight

  • Own and manage the global events budget.

  • Negotiate and manage vendor, agency, and sponsorship contracts to ensure premium experiences and cost efficiency.

  • Establish systems for tracking spend and performance to guide future planning and optimization.

Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing team. Coach and mentor direct reports, maintain a deep understanding of the team’s talent, and implement plans to hire, develop and optimize talent for current business needs.

  • Build repeatable, automated customer journeys leveraging email, in-app messaging, knowledge base, community, and AI/automation.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B event marketing, corporate events, or experiential marketing, ideally within IT or cybersecurity software companies

  • Strong strategic acumen paired with operational excellence and creative vision.

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaborator with a track record of working effectively with executives, marketing, and sales teams.

  • Skilled in budget management, vendor negotiations, and ROI-driven decision-making.

  • Highly data-driven and outcomes-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Willingness to travel (25–40%) to oversee major activations, primarily in North America.

  • 1Password is recognized as a category leader in Identity Security, with a consistent, elevated presence across key global conferences.

  • Corporate events drive measurable brand awareness, lead generation, and pipeline acceleration.

  • 1Password’s user conference launches successfully and becomes a flagship annual event for customers and partners.

  • Ancillary event surround activations amplify every major sponsorship, extending our influence and engagement.

  • Event operations are streamlined, data-informed, and scalable, enabling continuous growth and repeatable excellence.


USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $183,000 USD and $247,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $166,000 CAD and $224,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
