Description


Initiates and manages own MSc research project.
Conducts specific research with clear focus on medicinal plants/industrial crops.
Collect, captures, analyses, and interprets data.
Ensure that own deadlines are met.
Disseminates technology through seminar presentations internal and external.
Compile and submission of work reports to supervisor.
Compliance with human resource policies and procedures.
Compliance with occupational health and safety policies and procedures.


Requirements

Minimum Bursary Requirements


BSc/BTech in Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Production, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
Registered or accepted to study for master's qualification in Agricultural Science or a related field in a South African University.
Willing to register for master's studies in Agricultural Sciences or a related field after appointment.
Solid understanding of agronomic practices.
Basic knowledge of medicinal plants and/or industrial crop production is advantageous.
Practical experience in glasshouse and/or field experiments will be an added advantage.


Terms


After signing a contract; students will be expected to settle their studies fees, accommodation, transport, food, and/or any other expenses.
Students will be allocated a mentor from the ARC to assist them with real-life research projects for their studies.
Students will be expected to attend workplace training during academic holidays and times discusses with the mentor.
Payment of the bursary award will be dependent on the submission of a valid proof of registration.
