Role Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Construction Director, East Africa, the document Controller - Construction Site / BIM will be responsible for establishing and managing the project document control and BIM information management system. The ideal candidate will ensure that drawings, technical submissions, correspondence, BIM models and construction records are accurately controlled, tracked and accessible to project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the project Document Control and Common Data Environment (CDE).
Administer project information using Autodesk BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Autodesk Forma.
Control drawings, revisions, transmittals, RFIs, RFAs, MCHF, technical submissions, approvals and construction records.
Ensure site teams always have access to the latest approved information.
Review and coordinate Architectural, Structural and MEP BIM models.
Support/perform BIM clash detection, issue tracking and coordination.
Maintain document, BIM, clash and handover/as-built registers.
Prepare document control and BIM coordination reports and support audits and handover.
The requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Document Control, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Information Management, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years' relevant construction document-control experience.
Proven hands-on experience with Autodesk BIM 360/ACC.
Practical experience with Autodesk Revit, BIM model review and clash detection.
Experience managing construction drawings, revisions, RFIs, submissions, approvals and technical records.
Strong computer, organisational, communication and record-management skills.
Desirable certification and experience include: Autodesk/Revit or BIM certification, Navisworks experience, knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans and QA/QC documentation.
