Duties / Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves and pilot circuits.
Test hydraulic pressure and flow, control contamination and resolve system faults.
Repair boom, hoist, feed, rotation, mast and dump functions.
Maintain mechanical parts including bearings, shafts, pins, bushes and linkages.
Find and repair 24V electrical faults involving solenoids, relays, sensors and wiring.
Service and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, turbochargers, cooling and charging systems.
Investigate low power, overheating, stalling, leaks, vibration and abnormal noise.
Maintain service records, engine-hour logs and preventative maintenance schedules.
Requirements
Strong hydraulic fault-finding experience.
Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
Mechanical, electrical and diesel repair experience.
Background in mining, drilling, earthmoving or high-pressure hydraulic equipment.
Valid driver's licence.
Able to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.
Education
Relevant Millwright, Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment or Hydraulic Technician qualification preferred.
Proven practical experience may be considered.
