Responsibilities

The regular driver shall perform the following duties when engaged:


Provide safe, timely, and professional transportation services for SNV staff, visitors, and consultants.
Drive to project sites and field locations, often under different conditions and terrains, while ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained at all times.
Conduct routine checks and report any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
Verify and maintain the validity of the vehicle's insurance, inspection certificates, and other statutory documents.
Carry out basic mechanical repairs, refuelling, and other routine servicing tasks as required.
Accurately maintain the vehicle logbook/work ticket, recording daily mileage, fuel usage, and service history.
Adhere to SNV policies and procedures as well as code of conduct.
Undertake office errands, such as deliveries and pick-ups, when requested.
Report any accidents, incidents, or violations involving the vehicle immediately to the relevant SNV staff.
Perform any other driving or logistical duties as may be reasonably assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements


KCSE level of education, with a good command of English and Swahili
Clean driving licence with over 5 years driving experience
Basic computer skills
Basic mechanical skills
Defensive driving an added advantage
