Scope of Responsibilities:
The Driver is responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of students and staff, ensuring full compliance with Kenya Traffic, NTSA, and PSV regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and safeguarding. This role focuses exclusively on driving and transport duties and does not include mechanical or vehicle repair responsibilities (handled under the separate Driver/Mechanic role). Student safety is the highest priority at all times.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
Valid Kenyan Driver's License class A, B, C and E.
Valid PSV certification.
Minimum KCSE certificate or equivalent.
Safe driving record and strong road safety awareness.
Ability to conduct basic vehicle safety checks and identify faults.
Good communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
Knowledge of major roads and routes in Kenya.
Reliable, honest, and safety-conscious.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage groups safely.
Professional and ethical conduct.
Commitment to ISK safeguarding and student safety.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
At least 5 years of driving experience, preferably in a school or institutional environment.
Clean driving record with proven safety history.
Training in First Aid, emergency response, defensive driving, and evacuation procedures.
