Job Summary
Driver Operator performs as fully trained member of the firefighting team to protect life and property IAW international, US, Air Force and PWS requirements. May perform other duties as assigned by Program and/or Site leadership.
Safely drive firefighting apparatus to and from fires or other emergencies following laws and regulations, operating pumps, power and other mechanical equipment as required, keep inventory of tools, and equipment on apparatus.
Clean and service assigned apparatus, maintaining it in a condition of readiness, report mechanical failures or difficulties and missing or damaged equipment to the proper authority. Operate, without direct supervision, various Fire Department pumping apparatus with multiple water intake and discharge situations at an emergency scene.
Perform required apparatus maintenance, cleaning duties, inventory checks and weekly inspections. Additionally, after every emergency response or training drill, inventories must be checked before leaving the emergency scene or training location.
Driver Operator is also responsible for all documentation and reporting as required and directed by Program and Site leadership.


REQUIREMENTS


A minimum of three years (3) previous experience preferably at a US Military Installation (Air Force preferred) with similar mission/project in scope and nature
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Computer skills
Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Valid country driver's license and passport.
Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:


Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
Frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
