Position Overview
The CBC-aligned ECDE Teacher is responsible for facilitating competency-based learning experiences for young learners. The role emphasizes nurturing foundational skills, values, and attitudes through interactive, learner-centered approaches that prepare children for lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
CBC lesson planning: Design and deliver daily lessons that integrate CBC strands (literacy, numeracy, environmental activities, psychomotor, and social skills).
Learner-centered facilitation: Guide children in exploration, discovery, and problem-solving rather than rote memorization.
Competency assessment: Use formative assessment tools to evaluate learners' competencies, skills, and values.
Parental collaboration: Engage parents/guardians in supporting learners' competencies at home.
Integration of values: Instill national values, life skills, and social responsibility in daily routines.
Play-based learning: Incorporate play, projects, and experiential activities to build competencies.
Record keeping: Maintain learner portfolios, progress reports, and assessment records in line with CBC guidelines.
Qualifications
Diploma in ECDE from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Training in CBC implementation and practical classroom application.
Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in ECDE.
